Thread

The fly tyer has a multitude of different tying threads to choose from and the selection process came be somewhat confusing. Over the years, I have tested most all the available threads and have found Danville’s Flymaster and Mono Cord to be the best for my style of tying. I primarily use 6/0 for most of my tying but will break out the 3/0 for the really big flies. I also use a 210 denier for building under-bodies for some of the classic Atlantic salmon flies I tie. These three tying threads more than meet my needs and are the only threads I stock. Both UNI and Largartun produce a fine tying thread and I can special order them if needed.
