Pheasant Feathers

There are all kinds of different breeds of pheasant that produce exceptional feathers for fly tying -- from the crest of the Golden Pheasant for classic tails to the long fibered body feathers of the Blue Eared Pheasant for spey hackles. I use pheasant in most all of the steelhead flies I tie, including hair wings, and you will find that most all the feathers found in any given type of pheasant have an application in tying.
